

GENERAL RULES
1. All decisions made by Texas Youth Expo (TYE) officials are final and
undisputable.
2. The 2024 TYE will be held at the Brazos County Expo Complex, 5827 Leonard Rd,
Bryan, TX 77807.
3. Health papers are required for ALL LIVESTOCK entering the grounds.
4. Unlimited entries per exhibitor at $100/head for cattle and $40/head for lambs and goats.
5. Entries close May 1, 11:59 PM. Late entries will be accepted until 7PM on Friday, May
3rd for steers, lambs, and goats and 5PM on Saturday, May 4th for heifers. Late
entries will be charged a $150 entry fee for cattle and $60 for lambs/goats.
6. Substitutions will be allowed up to the close of check in.
7. Any livestock project that is entered to show does NOT have to be state validated.
8. Only livestock that are entered are allowed on the grounds.
9. Move in for all livestock starts Thursday, May 2nd at 3:00pm.
10. Age limit of exhibitors:
i. Ages as of January 1st, 2024
ii. Steer/Lamb/Goat Exhibitor Age: Ages follow Texas 4-H & FFA Guidelines.
iii. Heifer Exhibitor Age: Ages will follow breed association guidelines for the breed
of heifer exhibited.
11. The TYE is not responsible for missed classes or divisions.
12. No livestock can stay on the grounds after the completion of the show on Sunday.
13. All animals must be shown in an ethical manner during the show weekend.
14. Artificial filling in excess is prohibited.
15. Altering the confirmation and/or appearance of an animal using products internally such
as steroid, illegal or unlicensed pharmaceuticals. Any animal found to be in violation will
be barred from showing and the exhibitor will forfeit all winnings previous to the findings.
16. Assemble your stall space safely and securely.
SHOWMANSHIP
1. Showmanship will be 30 minutes after the completion of each show. Announcements will be made to allow preparation time.
2. There will be five age divisions: Novice ( age 5-7), Junior (age 8-11), Intermediate (age 12-14), Senior (age 15-18), and Collegiate (age 19-21)
Novice exhibitors MUST be accompanied by an adult or senior aged exhibitor)
3. Participation is $5 at the gate
4. Cash payout will be awarded to the top 3 individuals in each division.
(1st - 50%, 2nd - 30%, 3rd - 20%)
HEIFERS
1. Heifers must be in the exhibitors name by check in or proof of pending transfer provided, if not they will show in the commercial division.
2. All breeding cattle must have an original registration certificate from breed association, digital copy of registration, or official calf scramble certificate to show, with the exception of the commercial heifer division.
3. Entries must be submitted by 4pm Saturday May 4th and papers checked by 5pm Saturday May 4th.
4. Full Fit which allows the use of adhesives, paints, oils, and sheens.
5. Champion, Reserve Champion, and 3rd Overall will be selected for each breed.
- All breeds will be represented in the Top 5 Overall Selection
- There will be NO Selection for American, British, and Continental Divisions.
STEERS
LAMBS
1. All lambs will be weighed and classified on Friday, May 3rd by a committee of three classifiers appointed by TYE. Lambs must be presented without any blankets, socks, or other paraphernalia.
2. Lambs will be shown in a five breed format: Finewool, Finewool Cross, Southdown, Dorper, and Medium Wool. Lambs will be classified according to the most recent version of the Texas Market Lamb Breed Classification Guidelines set by Texas 4-H and FFA. Lambs that do not meet a specific breed classification will be moved to their appropriate breed. The decision of the classifiers is final.
3. Both ewe and wether lambs are eligible to show, however all entries will show by breed and weight.
4. Entries must be submitted by 7 p.m. Friday, May 3rd, and all lambs must be weighed and classified by 8 pm.m Friday, May 3rd.
5. TYE is a full fit show, which allows the use of adhesive, paints, oils, and sheens.

3. Both does and wethers are eligible to show, however all entries will be shown by weight.
4. Entries must be submitted by 7 p.m. Friday, May 3rd, and goats must be weighed by 8 p.m. Friday, May 3rd.
5. TYE is a full fit show, which allows the use of adhesive, paints, oils, and sheen.
6. Champion, Reserve Champion, and 3rd Overall will be selected for each division.
